MINOT, ND – Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood and Berthold split their boy/girl basketball doubleheader on Tuesday night. In the pair of games we broadcast on K-Heart, MLS won the boys game 74-14 behind 20 points by Carson Nett, including four made 3’s. Riley Morlock added 14, Eli Undlin 13 and Reid Morlock 10 points as the Mavericks move to 7-1 overall, 3-1 in Class B District 8. Berthold was led in scoring by 7 points as the Bombers drop to 1-8, 0-4 in District 8.
Berthold earned the split of the two game by winning the girls game 58-47. The Simons sisters lead the way for the Bombers with Kasey Simons tallying 21 points and Shayne Simons adding 20. Each made four 3’s. Mya Neshem added 12 points as the Bombers improve to 9-4 on the season, 4-3 in District 8. MLS was led by Rilynn Beck and Jamie Thompson with 13 points each. 8th grader Archer Akerson tallied 11 as the Mavericks drop to 6-8 overall, 3-5 in District 8.

MSU MENS BASKETBALL-POLLS
MINOT, N.D. (MSU) – The Minot State men’s basketball team made history today as the Beavers cracked the NCAA Top 25. Winners of five straight and sitting in third in the NSIC with a 13-3 overall record, the Minot State men were ranked No. 21 in this week’s NABC Division II Top 25 poll released Tuesday. The national ranking is the first for the Beavers (13-3 overall, 8-2 NSIC) since becoming a full-fledged member of NCAA Division II during the 2012-13 and the first since Minot State was ranked No. 19 in the February 8, 2010, NAIA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The 21st-ranked Beavers now find themselves preparing for a Top 25-battle as Minot State will host No. 1-ranked Minnesota State, Mankato (16-0, 10-0) this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the MSU Dome in the second half of a men’s and women’s doubleheader. The Minot State women tip off the evening’s action hosting formerly No. 2-ranked MSU, Mankato at 5:30 p.m.
