TODAY'S THOUGHT

The Advent season narrows our gaze toward the King in a manger who came to be our King on the cross. The only King who ever established His kingdom, not by exerting power, but by giving it up. Not by eradicating His enemies, but by dying for them.

The Minot Public Library is excited to partner with the North Dakota WWI Centennial Committee to host a community event on Wednesday, October 17th at 7:00 pm. This event is one of several across the state leading up to the anniversary of the armistice ending WWI, 100 years ago November 11.

The program on October 17th will begin with a 10-minute video presentation with an overview of WWI followed by a 20-30 minute talk about WWI. MSU professor Joseph Jastrzembski will discuss how it began, how the US became involved, the effort on the home-front, North Dakota's participation and the impact WW1 has on today's world. This free event will conclude with time for questions and discussion.
