BISMARCK, N.D. - State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler wants North Dakotans to help review learning standards for students. The new standards are for health, science, arts and early learning. Groups of North Dakota teachers are finishing the first drafts of the new standards later this month.

Baesler is forming four citizen review committees to go over the proposed new standards. She is asking North Dakotans to apply to serve on the committees. Applications are on the Department of Public Instruction's website. They are due April 10th. Baesler wants parents, business people and others to suggest ways to improve the standards.

Baesler says the draft standards will also be posted on the department's website for general public comment.
