Crop report.....

    FARGO, N.D. - For the week ending October 28th, there were 5.8 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.

    Topsoil moisture supplies rated 7 percent very short, 20 short, 68 adequate, and 5 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 11 percent very short, 29 short, 57 adequate, and 3 surplus.

    Field Crops Report

    Soybeans harvested was 78 percent, behind 95 last year and 92 for the five-year average.

    Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 26 fair, 61 good, and 9 excellent. Winter wheat planted was 96 percent, near 94 last year. Emerged was 86 percent, equal to last year, and near 88 average.

    Corn condition rated 2 percent very poor, 13 poor, 27 fair, 46 good, and 12 excellent. Corn harvested was 36 percent, near 34 last year, but behind 44 average.

    Sugarbeets harvested was 93 percent, behind 98 both last year and average.

    Sunflower condition rated 1 percent very poor, 6 poor, 27 fair, 62 good, and 4 excellent. Sunflowers harvested was 49 percent, near 53 last year, but ahead of 43 average.

    Potatoes harvested was 96 percent.

    Pasture and Range Report

    Pasture and range conditions rated 5 percent very poor, 19 poor, 48 fair, 26 good, and 2 excellent.

    Stock water supplies rated 6 percent very short, 30 short, 60 adequate, and 4 surplus.
