AHLEQUAH, Okla. (MSU) - Minot State senior Tori Zimmermann has been named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region team.

Zimmermann was named the first team catcher on the All-Central Region team, which marks her second all-region honor of the postseason. She also was named First Team All-Central Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association earlier this month.

Zimmermann currently ranks second in the nation with 24 doubles and is 20th nationally with 75 hits. Her .455 batting average is 18th in Division II, while she is 18th in the nation with 131 total bases. She also is 21st in the nation with a .794 slugging percentage.

The Bakersfield, Calif., native led the Beavers in batting average, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, total bases and slugging percentage. In addition to her 24 doubles, she belted 10 home runs and drove in 44 runs on the year. Zimmermann was named First Team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and was a two-time NSIC Player of the Week.

BOSTON (AP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers are putting their 25-point loss to Boston in Game 1 of the NBA's Eastern Conference finals out of their mind as they head into Game 2 tonight. That's because they're more than familiar with LeBron James' ability to bounce back after lopsided playoff losses.
A lineup change could be in the works to help him. Cavs coach Tyronn Lue says he's weighing inserting Tristan Thompson into the starting lineup to combat the Celtics' Game 1 dominance inside.
The Celtics' starters scored 88 points in Game 1, while shooting 58 percent from the field and going 10 of 21 from the 3-point line. Cleveland's starters scored 46 points, shooting 33 percent from the field and going just 3 of 19 from beyond the arc.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Tampa Bay Lightning are in a historically difficult spot after losing twice at home to open their NHL Eastern Conference final against the Washington Capitals.
Game 3 is tonight in Washington.
Of the 41 previous times a team lost the first two games in the conference finals, 39 went on to lose the series - including every team that lost its first two at home.
The Capitals are feeling confident right now, but after falling behind 0-2 on home ice in the first round and roaring back to beat Columbus, they understand how fast things can swing.

SEATTLE (AP) - Seattle Mariners All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano has been suspended 80 games for violating baseball's joint drug agreement.
The league announced Cano's suspension today in a stunning development for the stalwart in the middle of the Mariners' lineup and a club expected to contend for a postseason spot in the American League. Cano tested positive for Furosemide, a diuretic. In a statement released through the players' association, Cano says, "This substance was given to me by a licensed doctor in the Dominican Republic to treat a medical ailment." He said he didn't realize it was banned.
It's the first major strike in a career that has Hall of Fame potential. Cano was trending toward being one of the few current players with a chance to reach 3,000 hits in his career and has been a consummate defensive standout. Cano is an eight-time All-Star but now must deal with the stigma of a suspension.
